As you maybe already know, all my project of remakes are free to download cause the original material don’t belong to me and I consider them as tributes to the glorious era of Amiga & Atari ST Shmups.
My first games are made with GameMaker 8 which is quite an old software and costed me 25/30€ more than fifteen years ago.
As an old software, GameMaker 8 is sometimes not compatible with Windows 10 and its Data Execution Prevention, and can sometimes create a bug at the execution of the games. It is quite annoying when you consider the tremendous efforts and time I put in Blazing Wings and Last-Out, even if the last versions of Windows 10 (2004 and 20H2) seem to be more tolerant.
I have got a solution, it would be buying a permanent licence of GameMaker Studio 2 (91€) Desktop Edition (for Windows, Mac and Ubuntu) importing and converting these two games and solving the bug. More over, I would use it to code my next projects.
